Lipstick Librarian

Hello! My name is Katie Barefield and I am the Librarian at Southern Choctaw Elementary School in Gilbertown, Alabama.

My library is visited by 450 students in grades K-6 weekly, some avid readers returning daily to get new books.

I am known as the Lipstick Librarian because of, yes, lipstick. Lipstick in all shades and colors is an essential part of my wardrobe.....I like makeup, hair, clothes, jewelry, shoes.......you get the picture?

I am an avid reader and like to keep my students up on good books. I do all I can to get all of my students to read, even though my own 2 children are not readers!
